Wes Dutcher-Walls
Profile
Wes represents individuals and organizations in a wide range of criminal, civil, constitutional, and administrative matters. He has appeared as counsel at every level of court in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Before joining Hunter Litigation Chambers, Wes completed his articles at a leading full-service law firm in Toronto and worked as an associate for five years at one of Canada’s top litigation boutiques.
Wes has extensive experience representing clients facing criminal charges and complex civil litigation. He also advises other justice-system participants including interveners, witnesses, peace bond applicants, record-holders, and lawyers accused of ineffective assistance of counsel. In Ontario, he was a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and regularly contributed articles on search and seizure issues in the CLA’s For the Defence magazine.
Wes completed his law degree at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2018. For his first year of law school, Wes attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he received the American Jurisprudence award for highest standing in constitutional law. Before his legal career, Wes was a policy advisor in the Ontario provincial government, focusing on municipal governance and accountability.
Wes was called to the Ontario bar in 2019 and the British Columbia bar in 2025.
