Yan Gao


Yan is developing a general litigation practice with an interest in commercial and corporate disputes.

While in law school at the University of Alberta, Yan served as an editor for the Alberta Law Review, volunteered for the Student Legal Services of Edmonton and competed in the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot and the Davies’ Annual Corporate/Securities Law Moot where he won the awards for first place team and top factums. Yan also won the Dean Wilbur Bowker Prize in Tort Law and the Dr Alexander Smith, QC Prize in the Subject of Contracts for highest standing.

Before articling with Hunter Litigation Chambers, Yan worked as a research assistant for two professors at the University of Alberta and summered with the Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta.
