The Chambers Global Directory has recognized Hunter Litigation Chambers as one of the four leading Dispute Resolution firms of any size in British Columbia. Their description of the firm is as follows:
"In a major shake-up of the market this year, Hunter Voith and Berardino & Harris LLP merged in July 2006 to form Hunter Litigation Chambers. Observers note that the new firm combines the strength of Berardino & Harris LLP in a range of commercial disputes, class actions and product liabilty work (and its standing as a magnet for multinationals with litigation in the province) with the strength of Hunter Voith in the forestry industry and in public and administrative law. Other areas of expertise include white-collar crime litigation and arbitration."
Lexpert Magazine published its Guide to the Top 100 Industry Specialists in Canada, and both Peter Voith and John Hunter were recognized for their expertise in Forestry and Forest Products. Peter and John were the only two litigation counsel in Canada to achieve this industry recognition in the forest sector.
We are pleased to welcome Sarah Bevan as our first professional hire in the new firm. Sarah graduated from the University of British Columbia Law School after a distinguished academic career. She spent a year clerking with the British Columbia Court of Appeal and was called to the bar in 2004. She will be providing litigation support to the firm with legal research and analysis.
